Hello there people!
Now on holidays, I have some more free time than usual, so I've been spending some of it on Flash. As such, the second episode of Ristar is on the making... Its actually going pretty well, with the Game part giving me the most of the headachs. Now the RPG battles will have 2 party members, with multiple enemies fighting, so its something actually kindda new to me since I'm using new kinds of Action script!
In the meaning time I'll leave you with a preview. Some friend of mine said "if you are only showing the preview to the annoying people claming for flash, make them wait!"
And he is right indeed, but the fact is that I haven't been here too much latelly and I feel that people are leaving me :_( LOL! Well, not really... Just take it:

Ristar Episode 2 Preview - Battle Scene

I strongly recommend to put the movie in Medium/Low quality! The movie have lots of binamps, glow effects and such, that may crash the animation a bit in old computers. I leave your PC "strength" to your judgement :D

In the RPG part I'm trying to give the battle a little more of interactivity, instead of just using the mouse to choose attacks. So I'll be adding, link attacks, and Ultimates, to make desvasting combos and such! I'm actually up to ideas (put in mind I'm not an Action Script master, so don't come up with something impossible for me to make), so if you guys have any good one, feel free to leave it here.

Something I feel its important to say, is that I'm actually trying to give up on sprites... Sprites are more and more underated, and hated with the time.
Most people are expecting a Sonic RPG conclusion in a Sprite game, but I'm actually thinkin a little high, as to make a movie with draws! If I can get my hands on a draw table that is!
BUT, even so, a movie like that would be a life time project, so if I ever decide to make it, it will take at least 1-2 years to make something worth showing! At least is something worth waitin :)

Anyway just be glad with what I have for you, and then I'll think in my life. Well, time for a beer and a little bit of sun!

So you are still accepting ideas for Ristar Ep.2 ?? Well,there is something you could put in your flash to give da game the extra kick^^ If it's not too difficult for you,would it be possible to make like ''timed hits'' like in Mario Rpg or Paper Mario? ~_^

Or something even better: when you do a Super Attack [or Limit Break] that you have to press really fast some buttons like this: <-- --> [Spacebar] [down] and stuff! It would be cool...

But ofc only if it's not too demanding :) don't push yourself too hard^^''

Relax, the text boxes will move at the Player will; "Press Spacebar to Proceed dialog" system :P
Well, since I was away from NG for a while I didn't know Arturia99 since a few months ago. But after a comment from him I actually watched all his submitions, and his series look very promissing! The idea from Breath of Fire is actually pretty good. I'm looking forward to his next game.

Using draws for a whole game is quite something... I don't know if I have that patience... I might give up before ending a flash XD
I personally don't find sprites bad or something, since even with sprites, a whole Movie\Game is extremelly hard to make, beleive me!!

If you want to go with draws, then do so, but remember the first 4 episodes of Sonic RPG. Many people bitched about it (although I personally think your drawing is fantastic) so if you make it draws, then say in the authors comment not to mindlessly bitch about it in the reviews.

Life is indeed a RPG. That is why I like life almost as much as video games, but life is the only RPG that I am still having problems with the controls. I kinda got bored so I just felt writing a topical humor joke. The thought about putting in an interactive gameplay like in Sonic RPG 8 is awesome. Good luck with Ristar 2.

Indo para outras conversas, também achei a ideia do SeriousGuy uma boa ideia. Muitos rpg's fazem isso, mas olha, tu se fizeres um limit break em que tens de carregar mais de 9000 vezes era bom, mas preferia um que acho que já fizeste no Sonic RPG, do tipo enquanto está a acontecer o limit break, tem de ir andando na ordem correcta. Mas isto é a minha ideia e acho que tu já tinhas pensado nisso.

Ya, gostei... Da 3ª parte. Mas de qualquer forma achei muito linear. As batalhas passaram se praticamente todas a 2D, e o Chakra-X explorou mal os varios angulos possiveis, algo que eu tenciono fazer. Por isso levaria tanto tempo a fazer.

Anyway, quanto os Limit Break, ja vais ver como ficaram... Eu acho que ficou intereçante ^^
